Winter has finally decided to grace Chicago with its presence. This means that there aren't too many days that are warm enough to head outdoors. A friend gave Abel an awesome REI snowsuit, but when single digits hit, well you know, it's just too cold. We have lots of fun toys and mountains of books, but I can tell when the boredom starts to set in. Abel cries for no reason, or at least for a reason only he finds important, like our neighbor Brian finishing shoveling and going inside. Oh, the sobs. So this prompted me to ask my friends what they suggest to entertain a one-year old on indoor days. This first idea came from my friend Sarah.

Day 1 - We spent a good part of the afternoon playing with a washbasin that I put about 3/4" of water in. I placed a few towels on the floor (using dirty ones, why make even more laundry). Grabbed a bunch of water friendly toys and we were off. Sarah usually puts a little soap for bubbles in, but I knew Abel would spend half the time drinking the water, which he did, so we omitted them.
